Who We Are
KC Springberg-Dill
Owner and Maker of Northern Nail Polish
KC is the owner and maker behind Northern Nail Polish, a Traverse City-based handmade business launched in 2013. Inspired by the natural beauty of Michigan, each nail polish shade reflects elements of the Great Lakes region, from its landscapes and festivals to its vibrant communities. Committed to sustainability, Northern Nail Polish is non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free and long-lasting.
KC’s dedication to environmental causes is woven into her business— she plants a tree for every order with partnership through One Tree Planted, contributing to reforestation efforts and making a positive impact on the planet. In addition to Northern Nail Polish, KC supports other women-owned small businesses through her quarterly self-care subscription boxes, which feature products from local, Michigan makers and beyond.
In the past, KC operated a brick-and-mortar shop, offering customers a craft show-style experience where they could support local handmade artisans after the pandemic. Alongside her products, KC’s passion for website building and photography has helped her grow a vibrant community. Through social media and a monthly newsletter, she engages with over 24,450 members, fostering connections and promoting the handmade movement.
KC’s journey is one of creativity, sustainability and a deep commitment to uplifting fellow women in business. She understands the importance of financial independence firsthand, as she supports herself and her son through her thriving handmade business.

Jessica Jabara
Owner and Creator of Bird Nest Closet
Jessica’s passion for crocheting began when her grandmother taught her the craft at the age of 13, and it has been a part of her life ever since. After her grandmother's passing in 2019, each time she picks up a crochet hook, Jessica feels a special connection to her.
As the owner and creator of Bird Nest Closet, Jessica designs and hand stitches every item in her shop, ensuring that each piece is crafted with care and love. Specializing in micro-crochet earrings, Jessica’s work reflects her love for charming, whimsical designs, often inspired by nature— think tiny fruits, bees and flowers.
In addition to her creative endeavors, Jessica holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wayne State University, which has been instrumental in growing her business through her marketing expertise. She is also the founder of the Handmade in Northern Michigan Facebook group, which quickly gained traction, now boasting over 3,800 members and serves as a vibrant space for local makers and artisans to connect and thrive.
Jessica’s work is not only a reflection of her creative skills but also of her deep commitment to keeping the spirit of handmade craftsmanship alive. Through Bird Nest Closet and her community involvement, she continues to honor her grandmother’s legacy while making a meaningful impact on the Northern Michigan artisan scene.
